Solar Panel Related Components (Backsheets/Encapsulation Films)

Backsheets, which are vital to protecting solar cells over a long period of time, are used on the very back of solar panels. Toppan develops and manufactures various backsheets that provide superior sunlight resistance, insulation, fire resistance, and barrier properties based on the unique barrier and coating technologies that have been developed in the manufacture of GL Film.
In addition, Toppan entered into a technology transfer agreement with DuPont in 2008. High-performance backsheet,BS-TX series was developed through this cooperation and manufacturing is being expanded after implementing an exclusive integrated
manufacturing line at the Fukaya Plant (Saitama Prefecture).

Encapsulation film is a film used for sealant between backsheets and glass to protect solar cells. Toppan develops and sells EVA film for the purpose that offers superior heat shrinking resistance based on its own unique film extrusion processing technology.
